The University of Calgary is a short walk away, as is Foothills Hospital and the home of the Calgary Stampeders – McMahon Stadium. Banff Trail Station is in the community, and the #10 Dalhousie / Southcentre bus provides an alternative means of accessing the south side of the city. Crowchild Trail, one of the city’s major arteries, runs along the west side of the community.

 

Lifestyle

When the temperature drops and the water freezes, the hockey players come out. Come November, once the ice is ready, it’s common to find a game of shinny being played in one of the areas two hockey rinks. Parents, children, and university students all congregate around the rinks during the colder months. When things warm up, folks head to the ball park to play some baseball.

 

Also, expect to see students everywhere thanks to this community’s prime location next to the University of Calgary. On warmer days, it’s not uncommon to see the sidewalks flooded with young adults making their way to class. And in the summer, when school is out for most? Enjoy the annual Stampede Breakfast, complete with pancakes, sausage, and bacon.
