Cliff Bungalow, City Centre Calgary Real Estate Listings and Community Info
Cliff Bungalow is a city centre (formerly known as inner city) Calgary community that features condos, single family homes, and townhouses for sale, with the majority of properties being condos. Looking for something a little larger? You’ll also find luxury homes and estates, usually in a 2-storey style, as well as some infill houses. This neighborhood is home to Calgary’s annual Lilac Festival, which takes place along the 4th Street SW commercial district, and is the city’s largest street festival. Cliff Bungalow is bounded on the north by 17th Avenue SW, on the east by 4th Street SW, on the south by the Elbow River, and on the west by Cliff Street.
Art in the Inner City
Fitness junkie? You’ll be happy in Cliff Bungalow – as you’re a short walk to a variety of green spaces, including Elbow River, Earl Grey Park, and most importantly – the Talisman Centre. There, you’ll be able to hit the weights, go for a run, or summon your courage and take a leap of faith off the tallest diving board.
This community is also great for shoppers, as you have two of Calgary’s best commercial districts within walking distance. First, 4th Street SW features a variety of shops and restaurants. Second, there’s 17th Avenue SW, nicknamed “Red Mile” by Calgarians. 17th Avenue has more of a night out vibe, with numerous bars and clubs.
Western Canada High School and Earl Grey Elementary serve the children in the area.
The beautiful part about this inner city neighborhood? Virtually everything you could possibly need is within walking distance. Want to go see a concert? It’s only a few blocks to the BMO Centre. Have the urge to catch a Flames game? Just walk down 17th Avenue SW to the Saddledome. If you do need to drive, Macleod Trail and 17th Avenue SW are your best bet to get anywhere – though you’ll find a fair amount of traffic on both. In order to skip the traffic, you can catch the C-train at either Erlton Stampede Station or Victoria Park Station. The #2 Mt. Pleasant/Killarney 17th Ave and the #3 Sandstone/Elbow Drive bus routes service the area.
Residents of Cliff Bungalow are used to enjoying Calgary in the old-fashioned way: two feet and a heartbeat! Everything is within walking distance, so when you live here, it’s key to take advantage. Whether that means heading to the Dome on a chilly December evening to catch a Flames game, dressing to the nines and strutting your stuff on 17th Avenue SW, or wandering down to the Elbow River on a sunny afternoon – the choice is up to you.
This community also kicks off Calgary’s festival season with the 4th Street Lilac Festival, a free one-day event that features a variety of artisans and musicians.
