Bankview, Calgary Condos, Houses and Townhouses For Sale
Bankview, City Centre Calgary Real Estate Listings and Community Info
Bankview is a City Centre (formerly known as inner city) community that features condos, single family houses, and townhouses for sale, with the majority of properties being condo apartments. Located a heartbeat west of the downtown core, you’ll find infill homes and luxury estate houses in both 2-storey and 3-storey styles. With Crowchild Trail a short drive to the west and the famous 17th Avenue SW running along the north side of the community, this neighborhood is an inner city paradise. This community is bounded by 17th Avenue SW on the north, 14th Street SW on the east, and 26th Avenue SW on the south.
Inner City Oasis
One of the most walkable areas in Calgary, Bankview has a basketball court, a playground, and a tennis court. If you have a dog, there’s a dog park where you can take Fido for walks. Of course, when you live this close to downtown, everything you could possibly need is close by. This includes 17th Avenue SW, which features some of the best shopping and nightlife in the city. For those not yet old enough to partake in the city’s nightlife, schools in the area include Sunalta School and Mount Royal School.
Living close to Crowchild Trail means you’re only a short drive to both the University of Calgary and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). Offering a direct route into the downtown core is 17th avenue. If you have two feet and a heartbeat, the Sunalta C-train station is a fifteen minute walk away, depending on where you live in the neighborhood. Bus lines include the #2 Mount Pleasant / Killarney 26 Ave, and the #7 South Calgary / Marda Loop.
It’s all about the shopping, the restaurants, and the nightlife in Bankview. Had a hard day at work? Spend a late spring afternoon sipping your favorite cold beverage on one of the sunny patios lining 17th Avenue SW. Need to blow off some steam? Head to the club later for some dancing, or pull out the credit card and dip into one of the many boutique stores. Or, if you want, you can just relax at home and enjoy a panoramic view of the city’s downtown.
As one of Calgary’s oldest communities, Bankview sees all sorts of actions that communities further from the core miss. In fact, the community association is frequently rented out by Irish dancers, dog obedience trainers, and mom and tot playgroups. Finally, September brings Heritage Day – a walking tour through the more historic homes in the neighborhood.
