Braeside is a south (formerly SW) Calgary community with single family houses, condo apartments, and townhomes for sale, with the majority of properties being single family homes. Walk around the neighborhood and you’ll find most detached housing is either bi-level or bungalow style. Directly to the south of the community lies the Canyon Meadows Golf Club, and if you continue south, you’ll end up in the winding hiking trails of Fish Creek Provincial Park. This community is bounded by Southland Drive to the north, 14th street SW to the east, Anderson Road to the south, and 24th st SW to the west.

Amenities

While you won’t find any big box stores in Braeside, you will find a handful of strip malls, convenience stores, restaurants, and pubs. Walk around the community and you’ll see various green spaces, outdoor hockey rinks with kids skating around, and basketball courts. Like to golf? Then you’ll be happy to note that the Canyon Meadows Golf Club is just to the south of the neighborhood. Meanwhile, the community association offers various seniors’ programs, childcare, and art classes for residents. Braeside Elementary School is the primary school in the area.

 

Transit

Conveniently located close to both Anderson Road and 14th Street SW, Braeside residents have no issues getting to anywhere in the city. If you’re stuck walking, Southland Station and Anderson Station are both short bus rides away – in fact, you can take the #56 Woodbine to get directly to Anderson Station. You’re also a short drive (or long walk, if you prefer) from Fish Creek Provincial Park – the largest urban park in Canada.

 

Lifestyle

Live in Braeside, and you’ll be joining an extremely active community association that features before and after school programs, jellybean dances, a community soccer team, and mom and tots groups. When the weather warms up, expect to see Girl Guides touring the area with boxes of cookies – try not to buy them all! The older residents can check out the Southwest Seniors, which spends time bowling, playing cards, dancing, and feasting on potluck suppers.

 

Of, if you’d rather be on your own, head down to Fish Creek Provincial Park for an afternoon of exploring trails and splashing in the river.
