Amenities

While Oakfield Park lies within the community, two much larger parks are only a short drive away – that’s Fish Creek Provincial Park and the Glenmore Reservoir. Of course, come winter, if you’re not up for heading out to the outdoor skating rink, you can always pretend it’s summer by splashing around at the pool in Southland Leisure Centre. Cedarbrae has an active community association, with programs for Girl Guides, soccer and football teams, and indoor tennis. To the immediate north of the neighborhood you’ll find a Calgary Co-op and a strip mall for shopping.

 

Cedarbrae Elementary and St. Cyril Elementary & Junior High both service the area.

 

Transit

Anderson Road offers a direct connection to both Macleod Trail and Deerfoot Trail, which provides residents access to both the north and south ends of Calgary, as well as the downtown core. As for transit, both the Southland C-train station and Anderson C-train station are short drives away. The #16 Palliser and #56 Woodbine bus lines service the community.

 

Lifestyle

Every December, Cedarbrae hosts an annual craft fair, where residents are invited to come out and see others’ creativity on display. If you’re a social butterfly, you’ll also enjoy the frequent “Meet Your Neighbor” nights, which help bind this suburban community together. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy being in close proximity to both Fish Creek Provincial Park and Glenmore Park – and of course, there’s nothing like splashing around in the pool at Southland Leisure Centre.
